Cupping / Gua Sha / Moxibustion
Cupping is a therapy in which glass cups are used and suction is created with heat which warms the meridian points on the body to improve qi and blood circulation and thereby treat imbalances. Gua Sha involves scraping of the skin with a smooth edged massage instrument such as a piece of natural stone or jade. Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy in which moxa (dried mugwort) is burned on or near the surface of the skin to warm and invigorate the flow of qi in the meridian and dispel cold pathogenic factors.
